DETAILED ITINERARY 3 DAYS CLASSIC SAFARI AT TARANGIRE AND MANYARA IN TANZANIA
Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for afternoon game drive
After breakfast, you will embark on a hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Check into your hotel or lodge upon arrival for lunch and leisure. Tarangire National Park in Northern Tanzania is a lovely, tranquil park famed for its elephant migration, birdlife, and authentic safari experience. The majority of visitors to the region either avoid Tarangire entirely or visit the park for only a few hours, leaving much of the park untouched.
In the afternoon, go on a game drive to seek for fascinating creatures. The Baobabs, Africa’s largest trees and a haven for many diverse species, are dispersed over Tarangire’s grassy plains. Elephants thrive in this area, with some herds containing up to 300 animals. Discover over 500 bird species, including the spectacular Yellow-collared lovebird, the world’s largest bird, and the Kori Bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. Look for zebras, giraffes, elands, gazelles, buffalos, impalas, wildebeests, hartebeests, and waterbuck herds. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.
Meal plan: All meals are included
Day 2: Morning game drive and guided nature walk in Tarangire
After breakfast, go on a wildlife viewing drive to explore the park and look for the “Giants of Tarangire” — African elephants and baobab trees. Drive towards the Silale Swamp, an important part of the Tarangire ecology. Thousands of species flock to the swamp because it serves as a giant sponge during the wet season and then gradually releases water throughout the dry season. Huge herds of thirsty herbivores dominate the park, enticing lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, and the critically endangered African wild dogs/painted wolves. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the late afternoon, go for a guided walking safari in Tarangire National Park, where you can view elephant, buffalo, waterbuck, antelope, eland, impala, giraffe, and other animal tracks. Meet animals close to and personal. Over 600 different bird species can be observed on this guided walking safari in this national park, including the brilliant Yellow-collared Lovebird, one of the biggest birds in the world, and the Kori Bustard, the most massive flying bird in the world. Raptors can be spotted in the Park as well. Raptors that are regularly seen include the Bateleur Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Long-Crested Eagle, Martial Eagle, Fish Eagle, and Spotted Eagle Owl. Return to the resort for dinner and the night.
Meal plan: All meals are included
Day 3: Drive from Tarangire to Lake Manyara national park
You’ll have an early breakfast before departing for a journey to Lake Manyara National Park.
It is found through the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara has a breathtaking environment and is noted for its tree-climbing lions and soda-ash Lake. The park is also an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. The lake’s pink flamingo-encrusted shoreline attracts around 400 species of birds, many of which are waterfowl or migratory. Lake Manyara’s herd animals and birdlife are diverse, ranging from a sea of pink flamingos as far as the eye can reach to close encounters with bull elephants. Enjoy the game drive along the shores of Lake Manyara till the afternoon During 3 days classic safari
Following that, you will be driven back to Arusha and dropped off at the lodge or airport, depending on the time of your flight. This Tanzania safari comes to an end.
