Detailed Itinerary of 8 days wonders of Kenya and Tanzania safari

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Masaai Mara national reserve

After breakfast, the driver will pick you up and take you on a 4-hour journey to Masai Mara Reserve through the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, which is surrounded by some stunning topographies and scenery. You can stop at this viewpoint to take in the scenery and take photos for your memories. You’ll be there in time for lunch at the resort or tented camp.

In the late afternoon, you will embark on a traditional evening game drive in Masia Mara reserve, which will include journey over scorched grasslands, wildlife observation, huge expanses, and sundown enjoyment. There is a chance of seeing elephants, gazelles, giraffes, warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the evening.

Day 2: Game drive adventure and cultural encounter in Masai mara reserve

After an early breakfast, proceed on a full-day wildlife drive into the wide savannah parts of the Masai Mara. All of the Big 5 as well as rarer species such as cheetah, bat-eared foxes, Caracal, Jackals, Serval Cats, Honey badgers, and Roan antelope will be visible during the game drive. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see the magnificent Great Migration, which occurs from July to October and comprises over two million Wildebeest, Zebra, Topi, Eland, and Gazelle traveling from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara. They are driven to cross crocodile-infested rivers, fighting floods and hopping over hippos while evading predators waiting on the opposite bank, resulting in spectacular predator activity.

In the evening, you will visit a traditional Masai community to discover more about the wonderful Maasai culture and way of life. Day 3: Another full day game drive in Masaai Mara

You’ll begin with a delicious breakfast before proceeding to a for a full day gaming session. The Mara is home to around 450 bird species, including Common Ostriches, Southern Ground Hornbills, Secretary birds, Abdim’s stork, African wood owl, Ayres’ hawk-eagle, Denham’s bustard, Hildebrandt’s starling, Jackson’s widowbird, and Purple grenadier. Ross’s Turaco, Red-throated Tit, Swahili sparrow, Secretary bird, Silverbird Temminck’s courser, Usambiro barbet, Tabora cisticola, Trilling cisticola Yellow-throated Sandgrouse, Yellow-mantled Widowbird Woolly-necked stork, White-bellied go-ahead bird.

You can also choose to go on an optional air balloon adventure above the Masai Mara. Champagne brunch in the wilderness! Floating on a balloon while watching abundant game is a memorable experience. You will then return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer from Masaai Mara reserve to Serengeti national park via the boarder

After breakfast, depart from Masaai Mara camp for a drive to Tanzania’s Serengeti, including a morning game drive in Masaai Mara en route.  When you arrive at the border, have clearance. After that, proceed to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. On the route, stop at the famous Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the first man on the planet. Discover the gorge’s archaeological digs and geology, as well as the modest museum. Then you’ll head to the Serengeti, where you’ll check into a lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Full day game drive in Serengeti plains

Over 500 bird species, including the Common Ostrich, Kori Bustard, Southern Ground Hornbill, and Secretary bird, may be found in the area and will be seen during the game drive. After a long day of wildlife viewing, return to the lodge for some downtime, supper, and overnight.

Day 6: Another game drive day at Serengeti

After breakfast, go on a full-day game drive to explore the Seronera River, which attracts a wide range of wildlife due to its importance as a water source during the dry season. This region is ideal for animal viewing. The park’s extensive permanent wildlife population, which includes the “big five,” is well-known. The Serengeti is said to have the most lions in Africa due to the availability of prey species. This environment is home to about 3,000 lions. African Leopards, which are notoriously elusive, are frequently observed. Other animals include hippos, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes, hartebeest, and zebras. After another full day of game viewing you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro crater area

After an early breakfast, go on an early morning game drive before driving to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which takes 2 to 3 hours. You will arrive in the crater in the afternoon. Ngorongoro Crater is a stunning natural geological paradise.

When you arrive, you descend 2000 feet to the crater floor. A huge volcanic eruption created the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera (264 km2), which is home to 25,000 large mammals year-round, including some of Africa’s highest densities of lions and rare black rhinos, wildebeests, and zebras.
