Detailed Itinerary of the 5days Tour of Rwanda
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city excursion and a visit to the genocide memorial site
Once you arrive, our guide will welcome you and drive you to the hotel for a break before taking on a brief city tour of Kigali and a visit to the genocide memorial site, where over 250000 people were buried in 1994. The memorial site is where you will learn about the Tutsi massacre and how it was carried out in the twentieth century. Afterwards that, you’ll be transferred to your lodge, where you’ll have dinner and spend the remainder of the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes for Gorilla trekking
You will be driven to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in the far northwest of Rwanda for an orientation with Rwanda Development Board personnel after an early breakfast. After a brief orientation, go on a gorilla trekking excursion at Volcanoes National Park. In quest of gorillas, the rangers will lead you deep into the dense rainforest. You will walk up and down the rolling hills for 1 to 6 hours until you find these gentle creatures whose company will give you with treasure. Spend one hour with the gorillas, seeing their daily eating and other activities.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, go on a village excursion with a local guide for more cultural fun and to learn about the local culture before returning to the lodge for supper and a night’s relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer from Volcanoes National Park to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Following an early breakfast, you will be taken to Nyungwe Forest National Park, where you will check into the lodge for lunch. This park is one of Africa’s oldest rainforests, abundant in species, and breathtakingly beautiful. Engage in a range of activities when visiting this undisturbed tropical rain forest, such as birding, since the park is home to over 300 bird species, 29 of which are endemic to the Albertine Rift, such as the Kungwe Apaliser, Shelley crimson wing, and Grauer’s Warbl, among others.
Hike along well-established 130-kilometer trails like the Congo Nile, which happens to be longest, the Igishigishigi, which is the shortest, and the Imbaraga, which is the most difficult. After an action-packed day of activities, return to the lodge for a great supper and an overnight rest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking & Canopy stroll in Nyungwe Forest National Park
After an enjoyable breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations. After that, you will explore the forest in the company of a forest ranger in search of these energetic and playful chimps in Nyungwe woodland region, where you will spot the chimps as they bounce from one tree to the next, talking and giggling, and spend one hour with them in their natural habitat.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, take a canopy walk along the foot way trail to Uwinka, where you will cross a 50-meter-long swing bridge suspended from enormous bushes. View the incredible rainforest from a bird’s eye perspective, observing flora and fauna as they move underneath you. Return to your lodge for some rest, supper, and a night’s sleep.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali and then to the airport
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, you will be transported back to Kigali, from where you may choose to have a city tour and a stroll around Kimironko Market. After the town tour, you will be taken to the airport for your scheduled departure flight, bringing this tour of Rwanda to a close.
