Arrival & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Airport welcome and scenic drive west with a stop at the Equator.
Your guide welcomes you at the airport, briefs you on the safari and drives you about 405 km to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying views of the hills along the way and a photo stop where the Equator crosses Uganda. Check in at your lodge for dinner.

Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Morning game drive and an afternoon cruise among hippos and crocodiles.
An early game drive in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs and leopards. After lunch, take a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, the 32 km natural channel linking Lake Edward and Lake George, with hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and rich birdlife along the shore.

Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha
Drive through the Ishasha sector, home of the tree-climbing lions.
After breakfast, drive about 250 km to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive at your lodge for dinner.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Track a habituated mountain gorilla family with an expert ranger.
After a briefing at the park headquarters, follow your ranger into the forest in search of a mountain gorilla family. Along the way look out for blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys and forest birds. Spend a magical hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge.

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Cross into Rwanda with views of the Virunga volcanoes.
A leisurely breakfast, then cross into Rwanda and drive to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying the hills and the chain of Virunga volcanoes along the way. Check in at your lodge for dinner.

Dian Fossey Hike & Lake Kivu Boat Ride
Hike to the Karisoke area and Dian Fossey’s tomb, then cruise Lake Kivu.
Hike to the Karisoke research area between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke, founded by Dian Fossey in 1967, and visit her tomb. In the afternoon, enjoy an evening boat ride on Lake Kivu with plenty of birdlife.

Transfer to Nyungwe Forest & Canopy Walk
Drive through Rwanda’s hills to the Nyungwe rainforest.
Drive about 270 km (4–5 hours) through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Nyungwe Forest National Park. After lunch, walk the canopy walkway, a suspended bridge above the rainforest, looking out for primates and forest birds.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe
Follow chimpanzees through the forest with an expert guide.
After a briefing at the park headquarters, head into the forest with your guide to track chimpanzees as they call and move through the trees. You may also see L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and other primates.

Return to Kigali for shopping or a museum visit before your flight.
After breakfast, drive to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, visit a craft market such as Kimironko or one of Rwanda’s museums before your transfer to the airport.
