Detailed itinerary of the 12days uganda Rwanda safari tour
Day 1: Arrival at the airport
Upon arrival at the airport on day one of your 12-day Uganda and Rwanda safari tour, our guide will welcome and brief you about the safari and then transfer you to your lodge where you will check in, have some relaxation as you await dinner and an overnight stay

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After having breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park on a 330-kilometer journey as you enjoy the breathtaking views of Uganda’s beauty full of natural wonders including banana plantations, people in their farms, herds of cattle, and more. You’ll arrive at the park, check in to your lodge, and enjoy some relaxation as you await dinner and overnight rest

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale Forest National Park
On day 3 of a 12days safari, you will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and proceed to Kibale Park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking activity. You will then be assigned a trained ranger guide who shall lead you for this adventurous chimpanzee trek as you search for this great ape that you will finally encounter as they swing from one branch to another. You will also get views of other primates like the colobus monkeys, baboons, and others during the activity. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will wake up, have breakfast, and commence on a 2-to-3-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Park is famous for harboring a variety of wild animals including game drive activities that provide you with life-changing experiences. You shall arrive at the park, check in to the lodge and have the whole day at leisure as you await a delicious dinner and overnight rest.

Day 5: Morning game drive and boat cruise on kazinga channel.
After morning breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park for an early morning game drive where you will be on the lookout for various wildlife species like elephants, Lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, antelopes, leopards, and many others. After the morning game drive animal viewing activity, you shall return to the lodge, have a delicious lunch, and proceed for a leisurely boat cruise on the 32-kilometer-long natural Kazinga channel that links Lake Edward to Lake George. During the boat launch, you will get views of wildlife creatures like hippos, crocodiles, and buffalos and bird species like cormorants, kingfishers, herons, hamerkops, starlings, and martial eagles among others. After the boat cruise, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day 6 of your 12days safari tour, you will wake up, have a morning delicious breakfast and commence a 250-kilometer journey to Bwindi’s Impenetrable National Park. Along the journey, you will pass through the Ishasha sector for a game drive of Queen Elizabeth national park which is home to the tree-climbing lions. You’ll then reach Bwindi impenetrable national park in the evening time, check in to your lodge, have dinner, and an overnight rest
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s impenetrable national park
After your morning breakfast, you will head in for a briefing at the park headquarters about the gorilla trekking activity. You will be accompanied by a trained game ranger who will lead you to the forest in search of amazing creatures. During this trek, you will not only see the gorillas but also spot other wildlife creatures like primate species such as blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-checked mangabeys, and vervet monkeys including various bird species. After the trek, you shall return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight rest.

Day 8: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
On day 8 of your 12 days Uganda and Rwanda safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of your lodge, and head in for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. During the 3-to-4-hour drive, you shall enjoy the scenic hill views including views of the Virunga Volcanoes throughout your transfer. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you’ll check in to your lodge, have dinner, and an overnight rest

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will proceed for gorilla trekking within Volcanoes National Park with the company of a well-trained park ranger. During the trek, you will feel and appreciate the thrilling experience in the forest with the gorillas as you are also permitted to take some photos with the amazing creatures in order to make your trip a more memorable one. You’ll later return to your lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.

Day 10: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
On day 10, you will wake up, have a leisurely breakfast, and get off for a golden monkey trekking experience within volcanoes national park. The Golden Monkey trekking is a lifetime experience as you get to encounter these hard-to-find primates that are subspecies to the blue monkeys. During this trek, you will also encounter bird species like Kungwe Apaliser, Shelley crimson wing, and, Grauer’s Warbl among others. After the golden monkey trekking, you will return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day having leisure as you await dinner and overnight rest.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Kivu
After having breakfast, our guide will transfer you to Lake Kivu on an approximate 2-to-3-hour journey as you enjoy the scenic views of Rwanda. You will arrive, check in to the lodge, have lunch and commence for an evening boat ride on the fresh waters of Lake Kivu. The lake is prolific with bird species such as kingfishers, pelicans, cranes, and others that will spice up your birding experience during this tour. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 12: Transfer to the airport
On the last day of your 12-day Uganda Rwanda safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and our guide will safely drive you to the airport passing through Kigali city where you may decide to go for a city tour depending on your time of departure.
