Detailed 8 days adventure safari with gorilla trekking Itinerary day by day

Day 1: Departure to Lake Mburo

on 8 days adventure safari for the first day Lake Mburo National Park is located close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of Western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years.

Moreso, Lake Mburo is a home to 350 bird species as well as Zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo hyena, topi and reedbuck. Also recently, Rothchild Giraffe was reintroduced to the park so there are high chances of viewing them.

Furthermore, Lake Mburo forms part of the a 5km-long wetland system linked by a swamp together with other lakes in the area. Five of these lakes lie between within parks borders. Since Lake Mburo was once covered by savanna, it now consists of much woodland as there are no elephants to tame the vegetation.

As you leave the park you can take a brief stopover at the Equator line and take photographs and have some informative talk and experience with the guides there.

After your lunch, you will have a boat cruise on the lake in search of hippos, crocodiles and water birds etc.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have breakfast and an early morning departure to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. This ‘’Impenetrable forest’’ protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas- roughly half of the world’s population including several habituated groups which can be tracked.

This region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees as well as elephants and antelopes. There are 350 species of birds hosted in this forest including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.

In the evening, you will have dinner and an overnight stay in a Jungle lodg

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

On this day you will have an early morning breakfast with packed lunch. You will be briefed about the dos and don’ts during the gorilla tracking at 7:45am at the Park headquarters. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas which will take you half an hour to three quarters of the day. The trek to and back may be rather tiresome but worth every bit of the journey.

You will have dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park but you should be prepared for an incredible scenery along the way.

You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search of savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and some wild cats such as lions and leopards.

You will have lunch and dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge

Day 5: More Game drive and Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

In the morning you will head back to the plains of Kazinga Channel for a morning game drive.

You will be served with lunch at the lodge and after you will head to the jetty along Kazinga Channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This cruise offers you chances of viewing animals like the hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles etc

Day 6:  Transfer to Kibaale National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the northern bank of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasenyi) area in search of wild animals which include: elephants, buffalos and wild cats, savanna birds and different species of antelopes such as water buck, Uganda Kobs etc.

Later on you will proceed to Kibale Forest National Park.  This park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. This park is a home for 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primate including the chimpanzees.

Moreso this park is close to the tranquil Ndali-Kasenda crater area and it’s within half a day’s drive to Queen Elizabeth, Ruwenzori mountains and Semuliki National Parks as well as Toro- semiliki wildlife reserve.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland

You will have an early morning breakfast before you proceed for a primate tracking adventure in the forest. You will be required to choose between a half a day tracking experience or a full day chimp habituation adventure

As you search for Kibale’s resident chimpanzees you should keep an eye out for other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with I’Hoest’s, red colobus, red- tailed and blue monkeys.

Our expert guide will share the secrets of the forest’s flora and fauna ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable.

After lunch you can join the Bigodi Women’s Group and this group will take you on a fascinating boardwalk trail through the papyrus swamp of the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Day 8:  Departure

Every early in the morning you will be driven back to Entebbe International Airport by our guide driver for your flight back homeand thats leads to the end of 8 days adventure safari in uganda
