Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to Arusha.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your private safari guide will be there to greet you. You’ll be transferred to Arusha for a relaxing evening and safari briefing. Depending on arrival time, a short city tour can be arranged.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, known for its towering baobab trees and massive elephant herds. Spend the day exploring the park, searching for lions, giraffes, and countless bird species.
Day 3: Full Day in Tarangire
Delve deeper into Tarangire, visiting the lush Silale Swamp a magnet for wildlife. Optional walking safaris can be arranged for a more immersive experience.
Day 4: Scenic Drive to Serengeti (via Ngorongoro)
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands en route to the legendary Serengeti. Enter the park via Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy game viewing as you head toward the central region.
Day 5: Game Viewing in Central Serengeti
Explore the Seronera Valley, renowned for its resident predators and classic savannah landscapes. Keep your eyes open for leopards lounging in trees and lions on the prowl.
Day 6: Transfer to Northern Serengeti – Migration Zone
Today, travel northward to the Kogatende area, prime territory for witnessing the Great Migration. Along the way, enjoy game drives and scenic views.
Day 7: Northern Serengeti – Mara River D
Spend the day tracking massive herds of wildebeest and zebra as they gather near the Mara River. You may witness a dramatic river crossing, where crocodiles lie in wait.
Day 8: Northern Serengeti – Leisure & Adventure
Enjoy another full day in this remote part of the park. Consider an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise (additional cost) or simply soak in the vast wilderness.
Day 9: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Begin your return journey with a leisurely drive through the Serengeti and up into the misty highlands of Ngorongoro, passing Maasai villages and volcanic landscapes.
Day 10: Crater Tour – Africa’s Garden of Eden
Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, home to black rhinos, lions, elephants, and flamingos. Enjoy a full-day game drive before heading back to Arusha.
Day 11: Departure
Depending on your flight time, relax or explore a bit more before your private transfer back to Kilimanjaro Airport for your journey home.

Note: August is a peak migration month in Northern Serengeti. It’s a spectacular time to visit – dry weather, excellent game viewing, and thrilling river crossings.
