Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp
8km trek • Pine forest • 2,625m elevation
After breakfast, guides transport you to Nalemuru Gate, the northern park entrance. Trek approximately 8 kilometers through cornfields into pine forest over gorgeous countryside. Duration: 4-5 hours.

Simba to Kikelewa Camp
7km ascent • Moorland • Mawenzi views • 3,679m
Following breakfast, hike 7 kilometers toward Kikelewa Camp, enjoying breathtaking views of the Eastern Ice Fields on the Rim of Kibo. Journey traverses moorland with views of Mawenzi's jagged peaks. Duration: 4-5 hours.

Kikelewa to Mawenzi Tarn
8km trek • Towering cliffs • Acclimatisation hike • 4,310m
Trek 8 kilometers to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, positioned in a cirque underneath towering cliffs of Mount Mawenzi. Following lunch and rest, undertake a 2-hour acclimatisation hike gaining 200m elevation. Duration: 5-6 hours.

Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Camp
9km alpine desert • Saddle crossing • 4,700m • Rest for summit
Ascend 9 kilometers westward along Kibo's eastern flank, crossing the saddle between both volcanoes to reach Kibo Hut in early afternoon. Rest the remainder of the day before midnight's final ascent. Duration: 5-6 hours.

Summit Day! Uhuru Peak
Midnight ascent • 5,895m summit • Sunrise from Africa's roof!
Beginning near midnight, undertake the most challenging part of the ascent via torchlight across volcanic scree. Reach Gillman's Point (5,685m) and witness sunrise over Mawenzi. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), viewing glaciers and ice cliffs. Descent to Horombo Hut. Duration: 11-12 hours.

Descend & Certificate Ceremony
Descent to Marangu Gate • Gold/Green certificate • Celebration
After breakfast, descend continuously through moorland and forest around Mandara to Marangu Gate. Successful climbers receive summit certificates — green for Gillman's Point, gold for Uhuru Peak. Return to Moshi for celebration dinner.
