Your guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport and transfers you to your lakeside hotel. Evening briefing over dinner about the grand 9-day safari across Uganda and Rwanda — two incredible countries, one unforgettable adventure.

Morning drive north with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot — completing the first of the Big Five! Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest protected area with dramatic landscapes where the Nile squeezes through a 7-metre gap.

Early morning game drive on the northern bank — lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and leopards. Afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the thundering base of Murchison Falls. Hippos, Nile crocodiles, and over 450 bird species along the banks. Three of the Big Five checked off!

After breakfast, drive south through scenic countryside and the Albertine Rift to Fort Portal, gateway to Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive and settle into the lodge surrounded by tropical forest. Afternoon at leisure or optional crater lakes hike.

Morning briefing at Kanyanchu, then trek into the rainforest to find habituated chimpanzee communities. Spend up to 4 hours observing chimps swinging, feeding and socialising. Also spot red colobus monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Afternoon Bigodi Wetland walk for birding.

Drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains — lions, leopards, elephants, and Uganda kob. Continue to the Ishasha sector to search for the famous tree-climbing lions in fig trees — Big Five leopard and lion confirmed!

Early drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Briefing at park HQ, then trek into the dense forest with expert trackers. Spend a magical hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family — silverbacks, mothers and babies. Beyond the Big Five, this is the experience that makes East Africa truly extraordinary.

Morning drive to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi — "Place of Many Little Birds." Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the lake dotted with 29 islands and surrounded by terraced hillsides. Afternoon cross the Cyanika border into Rwanda and drive to Kigali, Rwanda's vibrant capital.

Morning visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving experience. Explore the colourful Kimironko Market and enjoy Kigali's modern cafes.
