4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda

After an early breakfast, your guide picks you up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (about 8–10 hours). Stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photos and the famous water demonstration, then continue to Mbarara for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre. Arrive at your lodge in Bwindi in the evening for dinner and a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for the 7 AM briefing with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, who assign your gorilla family. Trek into the misty forest with expert trackers — anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are feeding. Once you find them, spend a magical one hour watching silverbacks, mothers and playful juveniles in their natural home. In the late afternoon, join a guided Batwa community walk to learn about traditional medicine, crafts and village life, with traditional dances.

Another early briefing and trek, this time to find a different habituated gorilla family. Each family has its own silverback, structure and personalities, so the second trek feels completely new. Spend another unforgettable hour with the gorillas, then enjoy the afternoon at leisure to relax at the lodge or explore Bwindi village.

After breakfast, begin the drive back through rolling terraced hills, with an optional photo stop at Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy lunch in Mbarara and a stop at the Mpambire drum makers before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe. Your guide drops you at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
