1
Arrive Kampala – City Tour
Arrive in Uganda and explore the vibrant capital city.
Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to Kampala for an immersive city tour. Visit the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and sacred burial ground of Buganda kings, where your guide will explain centuries of royal tradition. Continue to the Ndere Cultural Centre for an electrifying evening of traditional music and dance showcasing over 50 Ugandan tribes. The performance features energetic drumming, colourful costumes, and storytelling that brings Uganda's diverse heritage to life.

2
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive north through the countryside to Uganda's largest park.
Depart Kampala after breakfast and head north towards Murchison Falls National Park, traversing rolling green hills and bustling market towns along the way. Make a rewarding stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will track southern white rhinos on foot with experienced rangers — the only place in Uganda to see these magnificent creatures. Continue into the park, crossing the Nile by ferry to reach your lodge on the northern bank. Settle in with sweeping views of the African bush as the sun sets over the savannah.

3
Murchison Falls Game Drive & Boat Cruise
Full day of wildlife viewing by land and water.
Begin with an exhilarating early morning game drive through the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, where vast grasslands and riverine woodland harbour elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, hartebeest, and oribi. Your guide will expertly navigate the network of tracks to maximise sightings. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise upstream along the Victoria Nile to the thundering base of Murchison Falls. Hippo pods, enormous Nile crocodiles, and stunning kingfishers line the banks as the boat approaches the world's most powerful waterfall.

4
Transfer to Kibale – Bigodi Community Walk
Journey to Fort Portal and experience community tourism.
After breakfast, drive south through the scenic Albertine Rift landscape towards the town of Fort Portal, nestled beneath the legendary Mountains of the Moon. In the afternoon, join a guided Bigodi Community Walk through the wetland village. Local guides lead you through banana plantations, traditional homesteads, and the wetland edge, sharing stories of daily life, medicinal plants, and community conservation efforts. This grassroots ecotourism project directly funds local schools and health clinics, giving you a genuine connection to rural Ugandan life.

Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Trek into the rainforest to find habituated chimpanzees.
Report to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a morning briefing before setting off into Kibale National Park, often called the primate capital of the world. Accompanied by expert rangers, trek through towering mahogany trees and tangled undergrowth, listening for the distinctive calls of chimpanzees. Once located, spend a magical hour observing a habituated community as they feed, groom, play, and navigate the forest canopy. Kibale is also home to 12 other primate species including red colobus monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Return to your lodge for a relaxed afternoon surrounded by forest birdsong.

Depart Kibale after breakfast and travel south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve boasting extraordinary biodiversity across its savannah, wetlands, and crater lakes. Check in to your lodge on the Mweya Peninsula overlooking the Kazinga Channel. In the afternoon, board a boat for a two-hour cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Watch herds of elephants and buffaloes drinking at the water's edge, hippos surfacing in large pods, and an outstanding variety of water birds including African fish eagles, pelicans, and skimmers.

Queen Elizabeth Game Drive & Katwe Salt Village
Morning game drive followed by a cultural visit to Katwe.
Set out at dawn for a game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of Uganda's prime predator territories where lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas hunt amid large herds of Uganda kob and topi. Your guide will scan the fig trees for the famous tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha sector. After the drive, visit the Katwe Salt Village, where local communities have harvested salt from the crater lake for over 500 years using traditional methods passed down through generations. Witness the laborious process of evaporation ponds, hear the stories of the salt miners, and gain a deep appreciation for this unique cultural heritage.

Testimonials

What Our Travelers Say

“The cultural elements made this safari truly special. Dancing with the performers at Ndere Centre, walking through Bigodi village, and learning about salt mining at Katwe gave us a connection to Uganda that a pure wildlife safari never could. The chimps and lions were the cherry on top!”

“Our guide Patrick was a walking encyclopedia of both Ugandan wildlife and culture. He introduced us to local families, explained tribal traditions, and still found us three leopards in Queen Elizabeth. Eight days felt just right to really understand this beautiful country.”
