Drive northwest through the Luwero Triangle, birding on the way.
A 4-hour drive (about 250 km) northwest via the Luwero Triangle, with birding stops in the savannah. After lunch and a rest, enjoy afternoon birdwatching around Masindi.

Budongo Forest’s famous birding trail.
A morning on the Royal Mile in Budongo Forest, looking for Cassin’s hawk-eagle, Nahan’s francolin, chocolate-backed and dwarf kingfishers, white-thighed hornbill and Narina trogon, along with forest primates.

Transfer to Kibale National Park
A long scenic drive to the primate capital of the world.
Drive about 7 hours (400 km) to Kibale National Park, home to 13 primate species, watching for olive baboons, colobus and red-tailed monkeys along the route.

Chimpanzee Tracking & Birding
Track chimps in the forest, bird in the afternoon.
After a briefing at the park headquarters, head into the forest to track wild chimpanzees, which live in communities of up to 250. Afternoon birding in and around Kibale.

Kibale Birding & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Search for the green-breasted pitta, then drive south.
