Day 1: Drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi for afternoon game drive
You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam in the morning and driven for 5 – 6 hours to Mikumi. Check into the lodge for lunch upon arrival. After lunch, go on a game drive until the sun sets. A great range of bird species, as well as big numbers of giraffe, buffalo, and elephants, can be seen on a game drive in Mikumi National Park.
You might also see lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland, and antelope are likely to be observed. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Drive to ifakara town for canoeing safari at Kilombero River and cultural encounter
After breakfast, you drive to Ifakara, which takes about four hours, and then to the Kilombero River for the canoeing safari. During the canoeing safari, you will get the opportunity to see stunning river bird species while roaming around Kilombero’s beautiful surroundings and relaxing on a sandbank.
It’s also fascinating to understand how the Kilombero Valley’s Wandamba tribe lives and fishes through their daily activities. You will be involved in these activities for the entire day. Drive to the Udzungwa Mountains area in the evening to check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Hiking of Udzungwa Mountains and the popular Sanje waterfalls
Following breakfast, you will go on a hiking tour to Mount Udzungwa. It’s additionally considered one of the world’s 34 biodiversity hotspots. Udzungwa is home to 11 primates, including the Sanje Mangabey (Cercocebus sanjei) and the Iringa Red Colobus (Procobus gordonorum).
The hike up to the Sanje waterfalls is the most popular. Hike this path to see the four tiers of waterfalls while observing monkeys, swim in plunge pools, and admiring the gorgeous surroundings.There are also habituated Sanje Mangabeys, a variety of indigenous plant species, birds, reptiles and amphibians, and butterflies to see.

Day 4: Drive back to Dar es Salaam for departure flight
Check out of the resort and drive back to Dar es Salaam after breakfast. Arrive in Dar es Salaam be dropped off at your accommodation or to the airport for your scheduled flight back home, that concludes this safari.
