Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive south through the Athi Plains towards Amboseli National Park. Arrive at your family-friendly lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro — Africa’s highest peak. Children will love watching elephants, giraffes, and zebras roaming the open plains.
A full day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives at a relaxed, family-friendly pace. Spot massive elephant herds crossing the dusty plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro behind them. The park is also home to lions, cheetahs, hippos, and over 400 bird species. Midday break at the lodge for swimming and rest — perfect for younger travellers.
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive north through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Arrive at the lakeside lodge in the afternoon. Families can enjoy the lush gardens and optional nature walk along the lakeshore to spot colobus monkeys and a rich variety of birdlife. The Country Club’s pool and playground are perfect for children to unwind after the drive.
Morning cycling adventure through Hell’s Gate National Park — one of Kenya’s few parks where you can walk and cycle among wildlife. Ride past towering volcanic cliffs, Fischer’s Tower, and alongside zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes. A thrilling family activity suitable for children of all ages. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to spot hippos, fish eagles, cormorants, and pelicans.
Depart Lake Naivasha after breakfast and drive west through the scenic Narok region to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive at your lodge in time for an afternoon game drive across the Mara’s vast savannah. The Mara is Kenya’s premier wildlife destination, home to the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Children will be amazed by the sheer abundance of wildlife.
Rise early for a final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara — early mornings offer the best chance to spot predators on the hunt. After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Drive east through the Great Rift Valley back to Nairobi, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the afternoon for your onward flight. End of an unforgettable family safari.

“We were nervous about bringing our two kids (ages 6 and 9) on safari, but Nature Nest made it absolutely magical. The lodges had pools, the drives were never too long, and our guide was brilliant at spotting animals for the children. Cycling through Hell’s Gate was the highlight of our holiday!”
“The elephants in front of Kilimanjaro were out of this world — our daughter still talks about it months later. The family rooms were spacious, meals were excellent, and the pace was perfect for young kids. Highly recommend this for families.”
